THREE STEPS OUT OF LONELINESS

Loneliness is the suffocator of a life.  I say it is time to expel it!  Change your life of loneliness to a life worth living.  This is possible, and you can do it by making a choice to win this war on your soul.

IDENTIFY your identity!

Loneliness is not WHO you are it is what you are feeling.

Identifying who you are is a way to throw off that Eeyore cloud.

PULL up the shades of your being and let the light of you receive the sunshine that awaits.

How DO I DO THIS YOU ASK?

STEP 1  If you are at home then go outside! Take some paper and a pen.  Go to a coffee shop, go to the library, go to a park or just sit in your car!  Think about the things that you like.  Simple things, exciting things, things you have wanted to do for a long time, things that cost a lot and a little and things that are free.  Make four lists.  Things to do for free…things that cost a bit, and that cost a lot and daily simple things that you can do in when you are home.  Forgive the past and dream a bit.  This is a way to begin to know yourself.  Sit quietly and write down the things that come to mind that you like.  This is your life., your list.  It doesn’t have to be perfect.   Go back inside and tape the list to your fridge.

STEP 2  Never go home without a plan!  It is those lonely walls that attack you when you walk in the door.  Even if you are lonely in a group of people have a plan that enables you to stay focused on living and not on loneliness.

The plan can be what you will eat, what you will read or write or watch on t.v. or music you will listen to.  Plan a favorite food or a favorite drink , a hot shower, a soak in the tub or just plan  to have a piece of cinnamon toast but the point is:  HAVE A PLAN!

Make the plan long enough to get you to bed time.  If better things come up…be flexible…but don’t go home without a plan.

Vary the plan.  Keep it simple but don’t just do the same thing the whole evening and be sure to include some things that you think are special.  HAVE A PLAN!!!!

STEP 3  Schedule your life

Always have something to look forward to.

Refer to the lists you made.  That is your tool to fight off the walls from closing in.  Focus on the list and go ahead and pick some things.

Plan the next day.  Plan the next days off.  Plan something in the not too far future to look forward to.
